Homeless Solutions SDH began when a group of friends in Seattle realized that nightly shelters weren’t enough to meet the needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We saw people sleeping on cots in crowded rooms, lacking privacy, security, and the resources to move forward. We knew there had to be a better way — a solution that treated people with dignity and gave them real opportunities to rebuild their lives.

That vision became our first indoor micro-community, where we transformed an unused warehouse into a safe, private living space. Each resident received their own 10x10 area, complete with a bed, a personal tent, and everyday essentials — a space that felt like home rather than a temporary stop. From that first community, we have grown, and now our sites can house up to 50 people each, offering stability and support in ways traditional shelters cannot.

What sets Homeless Solutions SDH apart is our focus on privacy, dignity, and a comprehensive suite of services all under one roof. Residents have access to kitchens, showers, laundry facilities, gym equipment, and even security staffed by members of the community itself, creating an environment where safety and respect are the norm. But our sites are more than just shelters. They are stepping stones to independence. Residents can access job assistance, recovery programs, life skills workshops, and connections to partner nonprofits — all while living in comfort, privacy, and safety.
